If you want to white-label the domain for your WPAI organization, the standard method involves updating the nameservers for your domain. However, Cloudflare is one of the domain registrars that doesn’t make it easy to change your name servers. If your domain is registered with Cloudflare and you want to use it to white-label your WPAI organization, you will need to follow a different approach, generating an API token in Cloudflare and adding it to your WPAI account. This guide walks you through the complete step-by-step process. Note : The domain is white-labeled at the organization level. Therefore, when you white-label a domain for an organization, all the sites created within that organization will use your new domain. If you have multiple organizations, you will have to white-label their domains separately. Also, please note that this feature is only available on the WPAI business plan . Step 1: Generating API Token The first step is to generate an API token from Cloudflare. This token gives WPAI the permissions it needs to use your domain for creating sites To generate the token, simply follow the steps below: Log in to your Cloudflare account and go to your profiles section. Click on API tokens. Click on the Create Token button to generate a new token. You can use the “Edit Zone DNS” template, which will have a few permissions already selected that we need in the process. Click on the Use Template button. You will need to add the following four permissions to the token: – “ Zone read “, “ Zone DNS Edit “, “ Zone SSL and Certificates Edit ” and “ Zone Settings Edit ” permissions. Under Zone Resources , select the specific domain you want to use for white-labeling your WPAI account. Click on the Continue to Summary button. Review the details and click on the Create Token button. Your token is now ready, and you just have to add this token to your WPAI account to white-label your domain. Step 2: Adding API Token In Your WPAI Organization Once you have your API token from Cloudflare, follow these steps to connect it to your WPAI organization. Click on your Organization from your dashboard on the left hand side. Click on Manage. Click on the White Label Domain option. Click on the Cloudflare API option. Paste the API token you generated in the first few steps, then click on the Connect button. Select the domain you want to use for your WPAI organization from the dropdown, then click Connect . You are all done! The “ Verified ” status confirms you did it right. All websites you create within that organization will now use your Cloudflare domain in the URL.
