In this article, we’ll explain how to enable and access SSH and SFTP credentials for a website created using WPAI. But first, let’s quickly understand what each of these are. SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) lets you securely transfer files between your local computer and your WordPress site using a client app like FileZilla. It encrypts your login credentials, themes, plugins, and content during transfers, keeping everything safe from unauthorized access. SSH (Secure Shell) is the underlying protocol that SFTP is built on. While SFTP is great for managing files through a client app, SSH gives you direct terminal access to your site’s server — useful for running WP-CLI commands or performing more advanced site server-level tasks. Note: SFTP and SSH are only available on the Pro and Business plans. Also, these settings are only visible to the team owner .
